Child Protection/Safeguarding
Great Moor Junior School is commited to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. We want every child to feel safe, listened to, respected and supported. Safegurading is everyone's responsibility and all adults in our school have a role in helping children to be safe and well
We will take concerns seriously, respond promptly and work with children, families and safeguarding partners to help keep children safe. We are alert to signs of abuse, neglect, expoiltation,online harm, child on child abuse, poor or falling attendance and other concerns that may affecta child's welfare.
Children can share concerns and worries in different ways. We will listen carefully, avoid judgement, record concerns accurately and take appropriate action. We use language that avoids unnecessary labelling and recognises both children who have been harmed and children who may have caused harm as children who may need support, boundaries and safeguarding oversight.
If you are worried about a child please speak to a member of our safeguarding team as soon as possible. You do not need to be certain that a child is being harmed to raise a concern.
Early help is where a collection of agencies work together across Stockport to provide a wide range of support, preventative and advisory services to children and families Early Help supports families at the earliest point when they first meet challenges, stopping problems from escalating. We very much try to support families who need help at the earliest point and can signpost to various agencies to help.
