Playground Leaders

Children in Year 5 and 6 were given the opportunity to apply for a position as a play leader. This will involve organising games and sporting activities at play times for the younger children at school. Not only will this be amazing for the children enjoying the games, our play leaders will learn some fantastic skills while they are leading activities.

The successful candidates took part in a course ran by Mr Garnett and Miss Higson to learn the skills and to build their confidence before leading sessions.

The playground leaders have started running activities and games for the Year 3 children who are really enjoying the sessions. Some activities are sports related and some are fun games to play. Our playground leaders are adapting the games to suit the children who are taking part. 

Below you can see an example of a game that Alfie, Charlie and Edward set up. This game was called 'popcorn'. By the end of the game almost 25 children were enjoying the game.
